Personal Background

Dr. Weifeng Zeng is the Director of Microsurgery Education at the University of Wisconsin–Madison MSRM Laboratory, where he has become widely recognized as a passionate educator, mentor, and “best friend at the microscope” to generations of microsurgeons in training. Bridging innovation, education, and translational science, he has played key roles in federally funded programs supported by the DoD, NIH, DARPA, and VA, while pioneering low-cost microsurgical simulators, global training initiatives, and next-generation microsurgical education platforms such as WiscVision. From PGY-1 residents learning their first knot to microsurgery fellows refining advanced techniques, Dr. Zeng’s mission is simple: make world-class microsurgical education more intuitive, accessible, and inspiring for surgeons across the world.
